Getting surround sound from OTA HD

Hi, i have the Panasonic SA-HT930 HTIB hooked up to my Panasonic TH-42PX60U 42" plasma t.v., and just started receiving HD broadcasts through my old rabbit ears. Its connected through the single coaxial input on the back of the t.v. Is there a way i can get the sound to come out of my home theater system, like a Coaxial to RCA converter or something like that?

You can hook up L/R and get basic pro-logic surround, if your display has a digital audio output use that for sure. A very few displays handle audio in a seemingly odd way where only 2 channel goes to analog L/R and only 5.1 will go to the digital audio output mrequiring you to hook up both connections. I am pretty sure your display is not one of them.

Well my t.v. has the digital audio out but my receiver doesn't.

Your best bet is to use the L/R since there is no digital connection available on your HTIB.

Your welcome. As you found out, nearly 100% of all TV's sold these days do have a L/R analog output.
