So, if i buy these speakers i need to upgrade my center also as my current one is Polk CS1. So, is that only Mission center will be the best match speaker for m73i?

Unfortunately, TSTO has sold out of the matching center channel to the M-73i's.
TSTO still has the M-73i's for a higher price of $259.99/pr up from $229.99/pr. I have noticed price fluctuations at TSTO. Some items go up and some prices drop. The V-62's were $599.00/pr and now they are going for $559.00/pr.

The center channel m7ds sometimes shows up on eBay, but not often.

I presume you meant the m7c1 or more likely the larger m7c2 centre as the m7ds is the bipole surround. Not being picky , just clarifying.

Ipm you are correct. I "mis-spoke", I meant to write m7c2 the larger center channel is no longer available.

I am so happy that I found this thread! I want to get a bookshelf surround system for my condo-sized living room, but all the decent ones I've looked at have been in the $700+ range. I am now considering the deal at tsto.com on 2 pairs of m70S speakers with a m7C1i center.

I'm wondering what sub under $300 would go well with this system. I need something relatively small so it won't overwhelm my less-than-spacious living room, and I'd prefer silver tone or light wood but will consider a black sub if it's my best option sound- and size-wise.

FYI, I have a pair of Spendor LS3/5a speakers that I love, but I figure that trying to find a center channel that would match them could take forever so I'm probably going to use them for a 2.0 audio setup for my mom.

In addition to my Def Tech system (listed in the Definitive owner's thread if anyone cares) I also have an all Mission setup that's currently spread out between three other systems in my house. I have the 775 towers, 77 center, and the dipole 77 surrounds.

Your Mom is very lucky to get your Spendor LS3/5a's. TSTO also sells an Energy subwoofer for around $200-$220 (the price seems to fluctuate up and down) and there is the AV123 X-sub that has a few knowledgable fans here on this forum.

I only recommend the Energy because of the ease of ordering with the Mission M-70's, but If I were creating a small 5.1 system for music/HT then I would jump on the X-sub.

They have a white one now at $325, but the silver shows up once in awhile. You may also want to check into HSU and look at their offerings, they may have something in your price range, but I am not that familiar with their products. I own a SVS SB12+ that I really love. I keep hearing bass that I never noticed before. I think you will be more than happy with the PB10NSD.

Those Missions look killer on your LCR. I almost went with the m70's all the way around. Do you think they would've been good enough to fulfill that role?

Nice set up you have there. Who makes the stands under your M-72's? I have several different stands but none look proportional under my M-72's. The M-72 is a large "bookshelf" loudspeaker that requires the right stand to look correct. Maybe it's the twin pillars the make them look right.

P.S. how tall are your stands?

Thanks for the complement...I'm pretty sure the m70's would have been just fine for my room size (14' x 10')...it doesn't take alot of power to drive these speakers...

Thanks!!! I'm sorry I don't remember who makes the stands (I bought these about six years ago for some Yamaha's at Best Buy)...they are 19.5" in height though...

does anyone know how the m31s compare to say a B&W dm303 or 600 series speaker?

also (hopefully not too offtopic)... I know LCR has to match... does a different manufacturer for the rears make a difference?

I'm thinking of getting the M70 5.0 set from tsto.com but I might have to wait another month or so before I buy due to budget considerations (got truck insurance due for renewel...yuck). Does anyone know if tsto has them as an ongoing offering or should I probably hurry up and buy them?


I've been searching high and low and this set up looks like the best deal I've seen on the net not discounting them being a discontinued line.

The M70s have been on TSTO for a long while now. They used to have the beech color ones too but those sold out some time ago. Not sure how many more silver M70s they have left, but once they are sold out that's probably it.

I was looking for new speakers, started reading AVSforum and within a couple of hours had all the information I needed to make an intelligent decision. You guys are great!
I took adamanteus to heart and ordered his exact recommendation for a 5.1 system from sto. Now if I score those m70s for sale on ebay, I'll have my 7.1 setup.

I ordered the Mission 5.0 package from STO tuesday night and never got any kind of email confirmation so I emailed them this afternoon. Did you get any kind of quick email response? It just seemed a bit strange that I didn't get anything other than a order number.

I have ordered several Mission loudspeakers from TSTO and have never received an Email confirmation, But rest assured the items that you have ordered should arrive within a week. Enjoy.

Well that's reassuring if nothing else. Their store hours seem a bit odd (shipping and receiving might be different than actual store hours) and I have no doubt that there order processing is plentiful...so I'll just wait. Might check my credit card online to see when it runs...since that will atleast tell me when the item likely ships.

You can E mail them and ask for the UPS tracking number and they will send it to you. They are a B&M outfit and this internet stuff is not their forte.

I emailed them yesterday afternoon asking about a tracking number and gave my order number and so far I've haven't gotten a response. I'll check my credit card to see if my payment went through and may end up calling tomorrow if they are open. Probably too late today.

So far I've received no kind of response

I Called, they haven't gotten their shipment in from warehouse where the Mission speakers are kept and don't expect it till this Wednesday and he said he would get it out ASAP. Real Nice guy.

Anyone know of any Mission M35i for sale......some where....anywhere...in the USA? Or a legit seller that will ship them to me?

They occasionally show up on eBay and I recall a pair that sold for around $305 a pair in excellent shape. They have been on the market for a couple of years now, so they should start showing up in the used market soon.

Sorry, you're right. But, I saw it was a few months ago you posted about the m7c1i and figured it would have been snatched up by now.

I'm still the only bidder for the pair of m70 on ebay (but it's still got 3 days to run too) and I think that if they go too high, I'll just order them from tsto.
Whatever happens, I'm still going with your idea of putting the m70s in the rear and the m7ds on the sides in a 7.1 arrangement.

Just out of curiosity, what provision does the m31 have for mounting to a stand?
I was also thinking it would be fun to make some stands from 3" or 4" pvc pipe.
Would the DIY speaker section have any threads on home-built stands?

P.S. Oh, and by the way, I received confirmation that they were shipped the same day I ordered them (on the 7th) and UPS has them scheduled for delivery on the 12th. Not bad.
