LOL. I'll bet that's the first time that word has ever been used on this forum. I used to own a Nikon lens that was specially designed for the sole purpose of enhancing bokeh. Because of it's focal length, it was also a great portrait lens for 35mm.
Ya know, the problem you've noticed with those 50s might be caused by reciprocity failure brought on by an incorrectly calculated bellows extension factor.
Seriously, I love the way my 20s sound, but, I've always been a "bigger is better" kinda guy, so I've been obsessing about a pair of 50s ever since I bought my 20s (much to my wife's dismay). Of course the 40s were never even a consideration, because after all, the 50s are the biggest in the Beta line, so they must be better
. After reading the comments here, maybe I can finally convince myself that I really don't 'need'
those big-a$$ speakers.
