JVC D-ILA BULB question

I've posted several times throughout my trials and tribulations about my JVC bulbs. I've gone thru a few so I know when its about to blow. BTW, sorry if this is in the wrong forum (please move if need be).

For the past few days I've noticed a very subtle flicker that makes my picture EXTREMELY bright to bright. I'd say this happens every few minutes while watching TV.

Is this a sign of things to come? It's very subtle and I notice it more when I play video games (due to the background) but it still consists when watching regular tv.

Has anyone experienced this or has this been posted and I just missed it?

Thanks in advance.

I doubt this is a bulb issue. Sounds more like a current fluctuation. How stable is the electric supply in your area? Do you have a surge protector or UPS?

Unfortunately it is the bulb. About 8 months ago I thought I had this problem but it was the ballist. Anyways JVC sent me a replacement bulb but after the tech came to my house to fix my TV he said I should just save the bulb for when I need it.

I figured it was worth a shot switching them out to see if the problem remains. The new bulb worked and the problem was gone.

I've gone thru several bulbs and never experience that before. I mean the color was brilliant and there was no real problem, other than that subtle switch that most people didn't even notice.

However, we all know our TV's the best. Sucks, but atleast I didn't have to come out the pocket for a new bulb.

OMG! I just put in a brand new bulb less than a week ago because the other one seemed to have a subtle dim. All of a sudden today my tv shuts down. Now it can't be the picture because there is no streaks and is still brilliant. Just last July I had the guy come out and replace the fans, power supply and ballst (sp).

What gives? I really love the tv but I don't love these headaches. Kinda wish I didn't get a JVC.

I bought this set 8/6/05. Already gone thru 3 bulbs and now this shutting down for the second time.

It'll shut down randomly, could be while I'm watching TV for 3 hours or just 3 minutes. Blue light blinks rapidly and then a minute later I can power it back up again.

If anyone knows what the problem please email me or respond plz.

Sorry but I have to repeat what I said initially. It sounds like an electric current problem to me. Maybe a faulty circuit breaker or plug. Have you tried running an extension cord to another circuit?
