Digital Audio - Mac Mini vs. PowerMac

I am currently using an older PowerMac G5 (1.6 Single) as my HTPC. I receive 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround when viewing VIDEO_TS files played with Apple DVD Player. I am using DVDpedia or Matinee as the TS launcher. I am considering replacing the G5 with a Mac Mini - does anyone know if the digital sound output from the Mini will be the same?....better?....worse?
