Remember the old etch-a-sketches?? Imagine it you took one apart and blew that silver dust on the inside of your tv screen. Just a real fine coating of it. That is what SSE looks like at its worst. Its almost like you want to get up and wipe the front of the tv off, because it looks like its got a fine layer of silver dust on it. It is usually only really visible on real white objects like snow etc..

It is caused by the high gain screens they put on most rptvs. I find the worst examples of SSE and the LCoS tvs.

Silk Screen is very hard to capture because not everyone will see it. I have to look really hard, practically concentrate on white areas on my 5687w to catch a glimpse every now and then, but it's rare. Best comparison would be to go and get a pair of your wife's/girlfriends white pantyhose, tune your tv to a all white source such as a test pattern or some very white image, and stretch the pantyhose thinly across the screen. Then you would have something close to silk screen. Don't tell your wife/girlfriend I said to do that to her pantyhose. The blames' all on you brutha....

Disclaimer: Any pantyhose ruined by people reading this is not my fault in any way, and I claim no responsability for said pantyhose.
