Rotel 2 channel amp/paradigm ADP-470 V3s

Thread Starter
Would the RB-1050 (70W/per channel) be enough for the ADPs or should I go with the RB-1070 (130W/per channel)? The ADPs will be supplementing Paradigm studio 100s V2 (mains).

I have been listening to music since the late 40s (that's the 1940s) with many nights listening to a m radio,(tubes glowing the dark) til today's cd, dvd, ipod... without tubes. As time continues to move, I read more about tube amps (I still have a Zenith K725) and the great sound they provide.
I have Boston vrbs and Boston E50s, both sets are powered by AudioSource Amp200 amps independent of each other.
With all that said,
I am interseted in a 2 channel tube amp for either pair, priced in the one-grand range. Is that possible. Any suggestions. Thanks

Hey "Sleddriver" I'm not sure what "Donf's" rambling is all about I think the poor boy must have been drinking some 'bad shine' last nite !

Anyways, keep in mind what you are getting basically with the larger powered Rotel is another 3 db, so depending on your room, musical tastes, lestinening levels, it may prove not to be a big deal. I would be more inclined to listen to various amps(different mfgs, different topologies, etc.) at a given power level to see what suits you best.

oh, BTW, with regards to your moniker, are you a snowmobiler ??

Actually it was not bad. I will try to be brief this time. I was hoping someone would suggest on a 2 ch tube amp (around $1000) for the speakers I listed.
I would think an old 2 ch fart from bflo might be able to recommend?
Thanks

Well "Donf" why don't you start your own thread instead of highjacking someones else's !! FWIW, that's how the program is supposed to work.

As you can see, OP posted almost a year ago. DonF probably was making a new thread, but AVS now gives you 'similar topics' that you can bump rather than 'clogging' the server with new threads. He might have thought his scenario was close enough according to AVS's automated search during his post writing.

DonF, just make a new post with appropriate thread title, and you may get more attention.

So basically the OP posted a year ago. DonF probably typed into his topic title as he was making a new post the words "2 channel amp" and immediately AVS recognizes "2 channel amp" and recommended DonF to 'instead of start a new thread' check out the following 'similar threads'. DonF reads this specific 'similar thread', and his question isn't answered so he posts in it. Maybe this actually happened, maybe it didn't. Either way, DonF now knows he needs to create a completely new thread in order to get some tube amp recommendations.

DonF there are some tube gear in the 1000$ range, I know Jolida makes some, but I am not too familiar with tube. As mentioned before, all you need to do is click "make new thread" and ask the same question, you should get answers!
