best way to view xvid/divx videos on my xbox 360

hey guys, I just installed the zune software on my PC and the streaming of files to my xbox is awesome, but i noticed it only is able to play wmv's for video, does anyone know the best application for seamless 1:1 transcoding of xvid and divx files to wmv?

transcode360 is the best option IMO, but only works with media center.

if you just have xp, look into tversity. pretty much your only (easy) option.

im having trouble getting it to work, do you guys mean the media center on the xbox 360? where do I put this code into the tversity software?

this is a little confusing for me, any straightforward conversion apps?

Oh sorry I think I might have misunderstood!
TVersity converts divx on the fly, but if you wanted a real cheap and dirty way to convert divx to wmv here's a link that could be what you are looking for:

Also, this technique uses a batch file that you would drag and drop the file you want to convert, there's a few new batch files on this site so make sure you read the whole page!

converting on the fly is so much better.


and by media center, i meant windows media center. the 360 is an extender, and all 360's have media center extender functionality.

Try just installing the latest FFDShow on your computer and see it that works. Works for me on XP MCE 2005 and Vista.

I use kazaa lite mega codec pack, I think it comes with FFDSHOW

I love tversity,but if I could change anything I would love to be able to fast forward and rewind Tivo style while im streaming to the 360.
