Well, there's the official word of what I've been speculating since the upgrades that caused EL people to lose those HD channels awhile back.

hopefully this will mean that the EL and L networks will be the same now, with new HD offerings.

I was under the impression that EL didn't get any of the additions since last summer, including ESPN2, A&E, National Geographic, FSN Detroit, Versus/The Golf Channel, Universal HD, Music HD, and WLAJ (ABC HD)

We get in HD

ESPN
ESPN2
DHDTV (Discovery HD)
INHD
MHD
WLAJ (53)
WILX (10)
WLNS (6)
WKAR (23)

Plus what ever premium channels you have, but we do not have Cimemax On Demand in HD.

And in my opinion INHD and MHD are a horrible waste of bandwidth.

I've seen a few decent concerts on MHD, just needs more content and less reruns. InHD sucks if the MLB doesn't come back to it. Its nice for a few extra NBA HD games each week.

I love having NGC HD, great stuff there and Universal has some decent shows. VSGLF is great for NHL, Bull Riding, and Golf Coverage. Been loving playoff hockey in HD almost every evening for the last week. Hockey is on InHD Thursday and Friday when VSGLF shows golf coverage.

FSN Detroit is amazing for Tigers and Red WIngs. The Pistons coverage is OK, but no where near the hockey and baseball coverage. Just wish we had more games in HD and definitely more road games in HD.

Damn, I got all excited this morning cause the little red light was on my cable box. I was hoping for something new being added, but alas, it was just an add for Comcast Digital Voice.

Bastages, who dare they tease me so?

I just ordered a 42" LCD for the bedroom and am gonna need another HD box from Comcast. I currently have just the regular digital cable box in there and don't need another DVR. I just need a regular old HDTV cable box.

What model is Comcast currently carrying for just HDTV service.

Also, I'm gonna take my 6412 in and exchange it for a 6416. Want the extra hard drive space and hopefully updated software.

Just a note, the basic HD box is a 6200/2005

That really sucks...

But you can get the Wings in HD saturday afternoon on NBC and the ESPN broadcast of the Pistons might not be blacked out (atleast some were not during the season)

Lots of Audio and Video breakups on WSYM (234 via Comcast). Switched to the OTA antenna so the wife can watch House and everything is fine there.

I see D* has been throwing some extra programming on channels 93 and 94 in our area when they have a lot of games to show at the same time. I've seen some of the Versus HD coverage pop up on channel 94 quite often at busy times.

Has anyone else that uses a QAM tuner recently had a bunch of their channels they used to get go encrypted. In the past week, I've lost:
-Court TV
-CNBC
-Bravo
-Comcast Sportsnet
-Jetix
-Nick
-TLC
-CSPAN
-CSPAN2
-CNN
-ESPN
-ESPN2
-FSN
-Versus
-Versus HD
-FX
-TNT

Every few days theres something else that I lose. This is quite dissapointing as the main reason I had for getting the QAM tuner was getting these channels, along with the HD. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to get these channels back? I've pretty much lost every sports station now, unless I go back to the analog channels.

Argh, after trying to get them to add the channels back or at least get an explanation as to why they are suddenly going encryption crazy on me, all I'm getting is some generic statements about how I have to have a box and that channels above 99 aren't available to TVs without boxes. I really don't think they understand what QAM is

CSRs have no clue regarding QAM and channels in the clear vs. encryption. They are paid to try and sell you cable boxes. They are as equally clueless about CableCards.

It doesn't shock me that Comcast is beginning to encrypt everything, however it is disappointing.

I added this to the first post. I also cleaned up the Comcast STB list.

I get them and lose them again. It's very distressing to lose CBC during the Stanley Cup playoffs.

I just checked my channel lineup on titantv, and it now shows VOD on channel 1. I just checked the cable box and VOD isn't working, but does this mean that we will soon be getting VOD or is this just a mistake...?

Well, we get ON DEMAND now. Just showed up on the cable box. About time...

is anyone noticing audio crackling and drop outs in ABC tonight during Grey's Anatomy? And WTF is up with the Comcast On Demand commercials saying that On Demand is on Channel 888?

888 is searchlight On Demand. It may not be available in all markets. Not exactly sure how many people are going to go to a Searchlight On Demand to watch ads and used car listings.

Yeah, noticed that too & I was watching off of an OTA antenna. Seems WLAJ is the only station in town who can't seem to get it right. There digital signal always seems to have problems. Also, anyone watch WILX tonight? They were not in HD, at least The Office wasn't.

Call wilx when they forget to hit the switch. On their website, call the newsroom and ask for master control or have them check with master control. its usually fixed within seconds

I'm still pissed about the Wings not being shown live in HD last night. Versus picks that as an exclusive game and then only shows the game on InHD at midnight, tape delayed.

Yeah, I turned on the Wings expecting HD but nope! Crappy SD. Why does the rest of the country get to see the game in HD but not us? Makes no sense whatsoever. And thanks for the tip on WILX. Next time I'll give them a call.

Multichannel News reports that Motorola plans to demo a STB with integrated ATSC OTA tuner in a couple of weeks.

Just musing here. Aside from the obvious leverage such a box would give the MSOs in negotiating carriage with the broadcasters, do you suppose OTA is robust enough for the MSOs to rely on it for HD carriage of the locals?

(By "robust" I mostly mean "works fine with a Silver Sensor," because I can't imagine Comcast rolling trucks full of ChannelMaster antenna rotors...)

have you guys actually dug through the On Demand menu? I was really bored last night and was looking through it, besides the fact that they have music videos on demand, they also have on demand dating, come on WTF! It was so funny when i found it!!! They have some really strange stuff, and in my opinion a lot of useless stuff that they could be putting more free HD content.

Also i see that they fixed the problem where you co go to HD on demand, then to network shows and it would not show Jericho. But if you went to network shows, CBS, Jericho it was in HD, now you can get to the HD in both options.
