I want Power Rangers the Movie!!!

Don't laugh. I am a huge Sentai fan, and I loved the first Power Rangers movie. I hope Fox (or Disney, whoever owns it now) releases it soon, as I would buy it in a heartbeat. Is anyone else here a fan, or does everyone think they are too grown up for it?

Loved the show, but the movies were horrible.

Heh. Cheers for not being afraid to admit it!

I can't say I'd care for Power Rangers, but Fox was the distributor for the DVD in the states.

I'm kind of curious how it would look in HD though -- all those cheesy sparks everywhere!

I am with you man! The original PR were awesome! And the first movie was great. After that, it went downhill.

I'd pay good money for Flight of the navigator, everyone has the favorite childhood flick

While Power Rangers: The Movie would be a very good visual demo for BluRay, I highly doubt it's being considered for release anytime in the next 2-3 years. Almost all the movies from the first few years of a format have to have a broad appeal in
order to sell to the small installed userbase.

I do have good news, though. The movie is already out on standard DVD and sells for less than $6. You can upconvert it on most BR players. I know it's not the answer you wanted, sorry.

I liked the original Power Rangers(Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), and the cast was simply great. After that original cast left, the whole series went downhill....

Although I did enjoy the Power Ranger Dino Thunder series which included a former Power Ranger named Tommy who was sort of a mentor the new group.

out of curiosity, how old are you guys and or gals? im 23 and remember those movies and thought they were the **** when i was young, but i look back now and they kinda loose their badassness.

would be interesting to see the original movie in hd though lol.

Green Ranger Saga.

I sort of enjoyed the original power rangers(the ones with the dinosaurs) when i was a kid because it reminded me of voltron. But afterwards they started getting pretty retarded. I doubt this movie would sell well if it was put out on blu-ray.

I'm 24.

MMPR was awesome, but the splicing of footage was terrible, especially when they put the Thunderzords in scenes where they weren't supposed to be (such as in EVERYTHING before Tommy lost his green powers in Season 2).

Zeo was excellent, but they left the ending hanging and never finished the story.

Turbo was utter crap and changing the entire cast was a very bad move. At least Kat was very cute in the parts she was in. Not to mention it took a serious that was meant to be a parody and made it serious.

PRinSpace was awesome as we got the return of a serious villian and the story was great. Plus it ended 6 years worth of villians.

Lost Galaxy - crap and the LG never showed up until the last 8 or so episodes.

Lightspeed Rescue - took a lot from GoGoV, and brought in their original 6th ranger, which was pretty cool, and the ending was good.

TimeForce - crap

Wildforce - crap

Ninja Storm - DUDE, where did the glimmer of at least one good actor go????

Dino Thunder - very awesome series, and Mesogog was kick ass. The ending was a let down though, and felt very lackluster, as did the soundtrack.

SPD - took a terrible concept from a terrible series and made it worse (did not think that could happen). They casted some porn star lookalike for pink ranger, and then had a villian who couldn't decide if she wanted to be a kid or an adult, AND made disco Skeletor whimpy.

Mystic Force - ruined a great series by adding in very piss poor actors and script. The music was ripped right out of Star Wars, and they ruined the point of character names. Dagon was named Dagon for a reason, NOT to be called Scalier. Slepnir was named Slepnir for a reason, NOT to be called Black Lance. Sphinx was named... you get the point.

Anyway, I still enjoy the original movie, but I cannot stand the series anymore as they completely bastardized the original Japanese series. Not all of them are great, but there are some extremely fantastic series out there (like Gosei Sentai DaiRanger, which is the series the THunderzords and White Ranger came from).

You BET I do! I was a total Turtles freak back in the days ! (Thank god I didn't grow up in the Poke'mon era...)

The first one was my favorite. It really had a good, mature way of story telling for what was regarded as a kids movie.

Things started going down hill with the other two.

In fact, I'll even imagine that the third movie doesn't even exist in this continuum .

Turtle 1 was nice, the DVD is kinda poor, so if it makes it on HD, i don't except anything. Turtle was huge too when i was a kid, the CG idea is what it should have been in the first place LOL.. IMHO... but back then it was impossible..

Want to laught at Turtle 3

MY GOD I LAUGHED SO HARD MY BALLS FELL OFF

...

*wipes tears*

Ok...back to normal now .

The ONLY thing that's good about the inception of the third Turtles movie is that somebody gets to create a HILARIOUS rant about it 2 decades later !!!

On topic:

Power Rangers...wow...actually, I just remembered. The ONE thing that could POSSIBLY be worse than Turtles 3 is that episode where the Turtles team up with the Power Rangers !

Wow you guys have made my day...

Dude I love DR KAIN's post.

I learn a lot of new things there. I pretty much stop watching after JASON and Tommy were no more

I even love the Gold Ranger episodes. That was the time when the music was still awesome in the series with catchy songs. It was sooooo cool how they brought back Jason and all.

OH YEAH! I saw it again years ago when I heard of the FOREVER RED episode? Anyone saw that!?

That was so sick! With all the red rangers in the series together! And the fight scenes and cinetography were above average than the regular series!

I didn't care for Forever Red, but mostly because the Thunderzords were no match for Serpeneterra, yet one lone red ranger on a bike could blow up the entire mech. WTF?? OH, and now knowing that Serpenterra's Japanese counterpart was a god, it was even more insulting.
Oh wait... Your right the END WAS HORRIBLE! I was just talking about the episode before the ending.. The fights with Jason and Tommy and then the Ranger fights were awesome u know...
You know... never make fun of a man's movie tastes. Argue Lionsgate, universal, and warners catalog title quality all you want, but its up to the viewer's choice.

But Im calling bs on this one. I will not feel the least bit left out if PR never made it to blu ray.

lol...

I had no clue people actually like this movie.
If Fox releases Power Rangers on BD, HD DVD fanatics everywhere will go crazy saying that BD releases crap movies.

Meanwhile, The Hulk continues to sell well. Irony of ironies.

That pretty much sums up my view of the series..

Mighty Morphin was excellent, Zeo was very good too.. The rest was crap until Dino Thunder debuted. That was a great series... it was really good to see Tommy again, he did a great job as a mentor.

After Dino Thunder I have refused to tune in to the new shows on a regular basis. I have viewed each one a couple of times and that was it. Sucked so badly.

Power Rangers in Space was alright, it was good to finally see a closing to the other seasons before it.... With the killing of all the bad guys.
