Help with COX HD receiver!!!

Thread Starter
Moving to Virginia, I got COX service package for HDTV. This morning when I left to work, the cable box worked fine. When I got home at 3:00 PM, the box stopped working and displayed "Your EXPLORER settop is NOT AUTHORIZED for use. Please call (703) xxx-xxxx"

I looked everywhere for info on how to reset this cable box, so far I was only able to get the diagnosis menu e.g. Press the SELECT button until message light is on, then press INFO button.

I don't know where to go from there...How to change the values in those pages of diagnosis menu? How to reset my cable box, anyone know?

Help or inputs are appreciated deeply

My cable box is Scientific Atlanta - Explorer 2100.

Thank you guys.

Only way to solve it!

The box has gone into "brick mode".

The install order was not completed properly.

And I don't believe you will be getting HD with that box anyways!

yeah... that is not an hd-capable box :-)

but they are right, the only way to fix that is for you to call customer service. they need to either send an addressable hit to your box or fix some sort of balancing issue in their system.

Yeah, he should swap up to a 3250 or an 8300.

Although he did say he just got the HD package, so maybe they gave him a 2100 figuring he wouldn't know the difference.
