Need Advise on (Semi) Professional HD Camcorder

Hi,

My Brother is in the market for a (Semi) Professional Camcorder in $5000 price range. I have been trying to search for review of cameras in this price range but have been unsuccessful finding anything. He has been looking at the JVC GY-HD110U and Sony HVR-Z1U.

I would really appreciate peoples opinions and reviews of cameras in this range or point me to sites that have comprehensive information and reviews.

The Canon XH A1 would be my vote for a best HD camera in the under $5k price range.

I've been looking into semi pro cams for a bit now and for that price I would agree... the Z1U

Decide what you want to do with it first. Narrative filmmaking? Documentary style? do you need HD or do you not? Lots of questions to ask before you decide to jump in the pool.
