POLL: Wii AND XBOX 360 owners: If you could only keep one, which one would you keep?

I've been an owner of an XBOX 360 for about 6 months now, and I LOVE it. I have the HD DVD drive attachment, and rent movies for it every week. It's great! I've had a few opportunities to play on Wii, and I've had nothing but fun. The wife says "ABSOLUTELY NOT" to having two game systems in the house, so I'm forced to choose between the two (I could care less about PS3 at this point). So... the question for those of you that have owned BOTH the XBOX 360 and the Wii:

If YOU had to choose between the XBOX 360 and the Wii, which one would you keep?

Just have her play the Wii, and tell her you won't get rid of the 360. You'll be a two-console household in no time, as she'll be addicted.

I suppose if i was forced to only have one..I gota go with the 360, it just does to many awesome things.. Its a media extender for my movie collection on my PC, a HDVD,Xbox live rocks (including the nice HD movie collection direct to download),Ipod support,and the fact it has some of the best games out right now.

Thank god I do not have to make that choice tho,since I love my Wii

I say keep the 360. I've had a Wii since launch and I've only liked Wii Sports and Red Steel. I've also owned Super Swing Golf, Zelda, and Excite Truck and they all bored me. Looks like there are no enticing exclusives on the horizon so I'm seriously thinking about selling my Wii.

First, I would get a new wife, luckily mine is not concerned with my AV/console purchases.

I love the Wii but you would have to pry my 360 from my cold dead hands.

Tough decision. Both consoles offer different gaming experiences. As much as I love the Wii, I'd keep the 360 if I could only have one, because all the blockbuster games like Grand Theft Auto will be on it. The Wii is going to rock for the first-party Nintendo games, and all the quirky games like the ones developers have been making for the DS.

It seems like the bigger issue is the fact that your wife won't let you have two consoles. Not that it's my, or anyone else on this boards business, but unless you're in the hole financially, I'd keep both and tell your wife to deal with it. $250 isn't all that much.

There is no option...the 360 with LIVE is the best all-around console ever made despite the unresolved overheating and noise fiasco.

As a current Wii, 360, and former PS3 owner....it does not get any better than the 360 and everything it has to offer.

Agree with sfb and scs0. There will only be one console being used at any one time if the wife is true to her words.

I'm also getting bored with the Wii. It is a console made for Nintendo fanboys. I tried to be but the attraction is falling apart.

If Gears of War exploits every nook and cranny of the Xbox360 and its the best it can give, then the Xbox has peaked. The PS3 has not. Therefore I'll stick with the PC. Can do so much more with a PC, even if it isnt DX10 capable sheesh.

It would have to be the 360. My wife thinks the Wii is really cute and likes the games on it, but as the serious gamer in the house, I don't think I could give up the 360 and keep only the Wii. There's simply too much missing (high definition, hard drive, Dolby Digital, Xbox Live, achievements, DVD-R/DVD-RW playback, network game play, etc.), and I don't think I'd want to use the Wii remote for all games.

For me, it comes down to the games, not the technical abilities of the hardware. Currently, I own a Wii, but I'm holding off on the 360. I'm more of a Zelda/Metroid/Smash guy than a Halo/Gears/Oblivion guy. That said, I will probably get a 360 whenever they release the version 2 hardware and/or drop the price. Viva Piñata sounds good.

Yeah I'd discuss this with my wife further and it'd be a short conversation or leave me as a free man! However, short of that, based on your claimed usage, this is a no brainer....keep the 360. And no I don't even own a 360!

I would just buy it and deal with the wife later..

Or you can do something i do sometimes.. Buy the wife something also at the same time and surprise her with it.. IT will soffen the blow a little when she sees the other console..

Kind of a dumb poll and thread. Its biased as can be. You put this kinda poll up without the Wii being out for a little over a year just like the 360. I would say only then would be a good time to post something like this.
