Games that make you system freeze?

I have Marvel Ulltament Alliance and when I go into the next level of this game, the same level it doesnt even give you the tip bar and the word loading it just gives me a picture of Human Torch and the hole system locks up. Does anybody have this problem or any other games that do this?
I cant even move on to finish the game since it looks up every time. And yes I did clean it.
Thanks

Are we going to count games that freeze up while playing online as well? If yes then:

NBA 2K6, GRAW, Oblivon...that's about it as far as I can remember. Marvel never froze for me while I played it. I've had bugs in games though. Like in Gears Of War textures don't seem to load for a little bit...the armor and his face will be perfectly smooth, and then all of a sudden his face is wrinkly and his armor had paint and detail.

Only game I ever had freeze on me from time to time offline was Oblivion.
Any online freezes I have ever had were the result of my broadband connection and not the game or system.

Viva Pinata corrupts garden saves.

They lock up my 360 every time.

The gardens are gone for good I fear

maybe 3 or 4 freezes offline in oblivion, out of 140 hours of gameplay..

about 3 or 4 freezes (online) in rainbow six, in the past 3 days (when i bought it)

never played ultimate alliance

never lost a garden in viva pinata.

Yeha, double agent is the one that makes my system freeze at the beginning. that's it.

Rainbow Six: Vegas locks me up about every hour or so if I have a long session going. Its the only game that Ive noticed it on.

Ok thanks
I figured it out ,I guess.
The area where you have to get both left and right hand of the statue to raise ,well after I got both and not just one to raise the game went forward. Odd I know.

Oblivion froze a few times when I first got it. Now it hasn't done it in a long time. Rainbow Six froze the other night while I was playing co-op with my friend. Powered off then on again and it hasn't done it since.

I started playing some more Oblivion, and damned if it didn't freeze up on me during the loading screens (as it often did).

COD3 has started freezing both on and offline after a few minutes of play. I guess my Xbox is probably done for -- it's from Nov. '05.

GOW takes 3 or 4 secs to render scenes when entering a new zone, no lock ups on eny games though.

absolute worst for me was full auto.

I have no idea why, but my 360 HATES Madden 07. It slows down a lot, the disk seems to have to spin at higher speeds, and i get a lot of dirty disc errors. I've tried different copies of the game with the same results. I haven't had any issues with any other game.

I actually looked up on some forums regarding this issue because it is well known in Rainbow Six: Vegas to lock up during online play. I read that if you remove the hard drive and blow on the connectors and reconnect it securely that it should solve the problem. Some people have done it and it works. http://forums.xbox.com/1/10323545/Sh....aspx#10323545

Also I read that the next update for R6:V is supposed to have something regarding the freezing ... don't know if thats true or not though.

Oblivion freezes during loading screens (3-4 times over 60hrs play time), GRAW crashed maybe 2-3 times when loading a game, Gears would crash at the menu screen maybe 2-3 times, and Rainbow Six crashed twice last night while creating co-op games (had the game since Wed). Basically everything crashes while it is loading and the disk will just stop spinning. I think I have had a game crash during game play once or twice but that has not happened in several months although I haven't been playing all that often.

The worst games for this for me are Burnout: Revenge and Dead Rising. There used to be some real nastiness with PGR 3 as well, but it seems like this has been resolved by one of the various patches (either for the game or for the firmware/dashboard).

There's a lot of speculation that it has something to do with the hard drive caching, but... Who knows.

Pre-Intercooler: every game.

Post-Intercooler: none...

...until I played Lego Star Wars II recently. The Ewok village level (Episode VI, Chapter 5 I believe) crashed too many times to count. This was especially frustrating when playing Super Story mode when you have to play all six chapters in succession.

2006 FIFA World Cup . But that is due to the disc being scratched. It's the only game that freezes

Need for Speed Most Wanted. offline freezes up all the time on me.

Question:

Do you think it's the issue of heat that causing this when there's too many things going on, or could it be just bugs in the software of these games?

I've looked through this forum, but haven't found anyone complaining about GoW, which should be pretty taxing on the system...
Mine is def not heat since it primarily crashes while loading and almost never in game.

Oblivion will occasionally lock up on me. LoTR:BFMEII will lag pretty bad in bigger campaigns, but never really locks up. Games I have not had any issues with so far are COD2/COD3/Enchanted Arms/GoW.

My first garden in Viva Pinata caused crashes a few minutes into gameplay. I started a new garden, and I haven't had the problem again. I've had a freeze or two in NHL 07.

Even when it locks up, my Xbox isn't really hot to the touch. A little warm, I guess, but no more than it ever is. It's really frustrating that COD3 has basically stopped working, since that's pretty much all I play. Is there any chance I could get MS to fix/replace it, even without red rings?

They would probably just blame it on your copy of COD3. Have you tried completely removing the entire game from your HD, and starting over? Also, do you have another copy from a friend you can try out to see if it freezes up too? If you can tell them that you did a reinstall of the game, as well as tried multiple copies, they may be more prone to try to figure out what is wrong with your XBOX.

How do you reinstall a game?

I don't think it's a problem with the particular copy of COD3, since it'll always make it through the menus at the beginning and load the level before freezing. And when it does freeze, there's garbage all over the screen. It looks a little like when a digital video breaks up -- lots of squares.

Go into the dashboard, find the section with the hard drive data, and delete everything for COD3. Then just put the game in again and it will load all the files it needs. You may have a corrupt file or something that it keeps hanging on.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot this evening. It'll occasionally make it 10 or 15 minutes without freezing...
