can I use HDMI to output audio in C2 ?

Hi all,

I'm new here. I have a C2 and all my video and audio are connected to the C2 through HDMI. A Coaxial Cable from the C2 to my Receiver for audio transmit.

Since I'm cannot get LPCM 5.1 from the Coaxial Output to my receiver ( I heard that Coaxial doesn't support LPCM 5.1).

My question is, can I use the second HDMI OUT in C2 for only audio ?

thanks

would you mind tell me how you setup hdmi for audio output ?

I have hdmi output port 1 sending video out to my plasma. Now I connect hdmi output port 2 to my amp, I cannot get any audio.

thanks

hmm - from memory it should just work.
afaik all output ports are active simultaneously. Have you told output 2 to get the input from the correct connection?
I'm away from my C2 at the moment so I can't check.

finally I make it work, but obviously not the most elegant way.

Blu-ray player > Denon Receiver > C2 > Plasma

ideally, it should be ,

Blu-ray player > C2 >
a > HDMI audio out to Denon Receiver
b > HDMI video out to plasma

but anyway, it work at the moment, I will try and do more research.

thanks and please let me know if there are a better way to do it.

You may need to config the HDMI Output in "Auto" mode for the embedded audio, instead of the default "Force DVI" mode. Check from the front panel, Output->Port Config->HDMI1/2->DVI mode->Auto.

Thanks Li On, I managed to get HDMI audio through the HDMI 2 output port. Yes, by using your suggestion.

But, LPCM Uncompress 5.1 still doesn't work, my receiver still getting 2 channel stereo instead of Multichannel surround (which I get by using my method). So, now I need to go back to what I did until something get resolved.

Hope you guys can test it (the movie I tested was Kung Fu Hustle).

Thanks

Kith
