I'd be very interested in what you are describing. Do I think we'll see that today, no, but I would love to see that from them.

A ULS-18 would pretty much be the ultimate subwoofer, but I don't think we'll see that either. For all the hype these massive subwoofers get, I don't think they sell too well and I think the guys at Hsu realize that.

Probably room/placement dependent. That being said, after living with my VTF 3.3 for 2.5 years, I don't see how anyone could consider the performance in ME mode to be "deficient" in any way. Then again, mine is both corner loaded and relatively "near field." ... IOW, Nuclear mode.

I dunno, but I might buy one depending on the price. Maybe a dual driver ULS-15 instead of an 18"?

Maybe someone who has a chance to go to the event will post what is being released and possible price range? One can only hope being one who lives not even close to HSU.

At the Hsu open house.

The new sub is called the VTF-15H. Impressive design and price point.

Can't post too much from my phone. Perhaps someone will get to a PC before me.

I don't even care about performance stats... I know this thing will be a monster! I trust Dr. Hsu on that 100%!

I just need to know two things... dimensions and price! Need to know if it will fit behind my screen and need to know if it will fit my wallet. C'mon people pleeeeeeeeeeeeease!!!!

Damn, I got goosebumps and my wallet is open!

A few new things on this sub that I think Pete will post about on the Hsu forum, the a lot of new things in the design, but for starters here are a couple pics and some info:

There is a sealed mode.

Size: 25" x 18" x 26" HWD add 1" for feet and 1" for grille.

FR ground plane is 15-200Hz +-2dB

and for you output junkies: 123-125dB max clean CEA2010 peak output capability from 40-100hz, 121dB@31.5Hz, 118dB@25Hz, 114dB@20Hz (these are with both ports open @ 1 meter).

The kicker....$879 in matte black....$999 in real wood veneer!! The fit and finish on both were excellent!

Curtis, is that @ 1 meter.

For reference here are other popular subs CEA-2010 @ 2 meters

Looks like it bests the PB-13 @ 2m.

Killer finish...killer price. Any idea watts powering it ?

Yes...it does, and at about half the price.

350w/1400w.....but lets always note, that doesn't really tell you much.

BTW, the driver was designed by Dr. Hsu from the ground up.

They passed out a double sided product description of the sub. Some very interesting things. Pete said he would post it up on the Hsu Forum.....I'm not typing the whole thing out.

now the question is will these outperform my vtf 3.3's? I like the ported design but the vtf 3.3's face towards my couch. The VTF-15h fires forward into the room.

15 inch woofers are sexy.

Uh...no question...yes!
Those output numbers at this price point is INSANE. This really surpasses my expectations which were pretty high to begin with. OMG. I can hardly believe them until someone tests it, because if those numbers are correct, that bests PB13 Ultra at half the price. Is this for real!?! Just wow!

lol I know on paper they do and in real life. But I was considering in my room environment, will they perform better. My room has openings into other rooms which make the vtf 3.3's nice since they fire sideways into the sitting area.

This is my dilemma with any other sub. I really want to upgrade. Even to dual uls-15's but I don't know if I would lose anything since they would fire into the room.

Does anyone know how long he is going to allow the introductory pricing? I won't be ordering till the 25-20th of Dec.
