Olevia LT37HVS FIrmware Issue - Please Help

Hi all, I'm having some problems with my LT37HVS and I'm hoping someone here can give me some suggestions.

My set was a refurb, purchased in December. I had the issue with the sharpness resetting, so I made arrangements to get a firmware kit to remedy the problem. I did the firmware upgrade yesterday - I even had Olevia tech support walk me through it since there were 3 .BIN files included with the firmware kit (i wasnt sure which one to use).

The issue is this: The only inputs that work are AV and VGA. I usually have Cable on AV1, my PC on VGA, Xbox 360 on Component1 and PS2 on S-Video1. None of these inputs work now - I get a blue screen and 'no signal' when I use any input except AV or VGA.

I have discussed the issue with Olevia Tech support, but they claim it will take a repairman 3-5 business days to even get back to me to schedule an appointment. In addition, olevia required a proof of purchase to be sent to them, which I did within a couple hours of discovering the problems.

EDIT:More than a week later, I still havent heard anything; I'm calling them again now.

My question is, is it possible to revert to an earlier version of the firmware to restore function to my TV? My current firmware version is: 1357_2.4 2006/09/12. If anyone has the .bin for an earlier version could they post it here, or email me?

I don't even know if this is a feasible solution, but anything is better than sitting here staring at my defunct TV. Any help is appreciated.

Why did you buy last years model in the first place? And a refurb at that. The 537h is so much better than the lt37. I'd return it from where you bought it personally. But I know you can restore the firmware on the new ones but those are user upgradable. It doesn't sound like that with yours. The 537h all you have to do is download the firmware upgrade to your PC and then hook a USB cable to it and follow the directions. Sounds like your screwed until a repairman comes.

Well I just got off the phone with Olevia; They are replacing the older TV with a newer, supported model. UPS will be coming to pick it up on Monday. I guess that's that.

As a side note, its amazing what a BBB report will help accomplish.

You buy and OLD REFURBISHED model and you are now blaming OLevia and filed a BBB complaint? What a joke.

It's already being replaced; what do you care?

Besides, the issue was the firmware in the first place, not the 'age' of the TV nor the fact that it was a refurb. Im getting a 537H out of it, so its a gravy deal. Thanks for all the positive feedback.

I care because you are basically conning a company out of a new TV you couldn't afford in the first place. Yeah it's a gravy deal for you. But to file a BBB complaint to get the newest model that YOU COULDN'T AFFORD is a scumbag move IMO. It's people like you that cause company's to raise prices to cover crap like that. It's BS.

Are you kidding me philp01? I have this TV and the quality of the firmware on this is pathetic. The component inputs always exhibit the sharpness bug (where the actual sharpness value is out of bounds and the picture quality drops), the speaker hum issue, the reboot issue (TV reboots, forgets user set values) and where the HDMI input just dies every so often. I'm just out of warranty (1 year!) so I can't return this.

I've not bought a device with such poor quality control in place in a while, so reporting it to BB is strictly fine. You have no right to question the integrity of the original poster, especially knowing the crappy firmware quality on this set ....
