I have a Samsung 56" DLP 1080p purchased in Sep 2006. Recently the set has started making a popping type noise and the pictures dims about 20%, pops again back to full brightness and so on. In troubleshooting I have discovered that this happens regardless of the video source or even with no source, the popping noise is copming from the bulb area of the cabinet and not through audio speakers. It will stop for a couple days if I unplug the set from power for a minute. It happens on direct power and through a surge protector.
Any thoughts? I am waiting to hear back from Circuit City for an appointment for a tech to come check it out.
