Ethernet Port dead/ need it replaced

Thread Starter
My Ethernet port is broken on my ReplayTv 4000. The 4000 is wired directly and my laptop works great when connected. I have had this machine for what seems like forever. It is a lifetime machine and I have a 4500 in another room so want the machine networked.

Has anyone ever replaced Ethernet port on a Replaytv? What are the groups suggestions?

Mikeyboy is your man.

I don't even think you need Mikeyboy on this one. The Ethernet port is on a seperate card on the 4xxx. There are several compatible models you can pick up.

Of course, he probably stocks and sells them, so it might be easier going directly to him.

Is this true for the 5040? My brother has a dead ethernet port that was fried by a spike over ethernet...killed his router and nic card on his PC too. I told my bro to connect via telephone for now.

Sorry, on the 5XXX's the lan is discrete components. However, as said earlier mikeyboy is the man for the job.
