When Will We See the Denon DVD-3930 with HDMI 1.3 ?

I've been holding off a purchase for this and some other equipment until the gear I want is available with HDMI 1.3. I currently use a 3910 that's quite good, but I'm prepared to upgrade when I can use this as a standard interconnect between my equipment. I think that Denon has announced some upcoming receivers with 1.3, but when will their DVD players catch up?

Thanks.

Why does the Denon 3930 need HDMI 1.3?

Exactly.

You're not going to see standard def DVD players with HDMI 1.3.

To make it absolutely clear, NO consumer disc playback medium (even Bluray and HD DVD!!) support the extra color bit depths provided by 1.3. And the advanced audio codecs that could be transmitted over 1.3 are not supported by standard def DVD.

HDMI 1.1 will give you all of the connectivity standardization you need.

Not true, as with HDMI 1.3 the player will be able to play DSD signals (SACD, DVD-A) over that cable, so HDMI might become the real one-cable-solution

Exactly. My components are in another room and accessed via wireless infrared converters. There's just too many tangles of wires to expose to guests. Can't wait for when the minimalist approach won't result in any compromises.

HDMI 1.2 gives you DSD over HDMI. The only thing that could be useful in a SD or hidef DVD player is the audio synch feature of HDMI 1.3. IIRC the sink (display) can report how much time is takes to process audio so the player can adjust video and audio output synchronization. For hidef DVDs, some people may want to send the new lossloss movie audio as a bitstream to a processor/receiver - this is where the new audio sync feature should come in handy.

Are any of the non-HD universal players even adopting hdmi 1.2? This would address the audio concerns of SACD and DVD-Audio. This seems like an important consideration for those wanting to use hdmi for all surround formats with native dsd.
