Thank you very much

Is there any way some kind soul here could somehow make those Photoshop files available again? I've been lurking on this thread for a while because I didn't have Photoshop, then picked up Photoshop Elements 5 this past weekend and am now chomping at the bit to play with these BEAUTIFUL marquee images. The links from the last time volley made them available are expired now.

Could anyone help a brother out?

Thanks!

All,
I created a page containing download links to the three files created by volley. I'll keep it up unless it becomes a nuisance on my bandwidth. Enjoy!

Visit the page HERE

I finally did my Marquee. local Staples oversize printer was down for weeks and they only had Matte finish so that will do for now. I have not decided if I'm going to illuminate yet.

Thanks to dachavez for editing the PSD for me.

Cheers,
Mark

Very bizarre as the same Staples oversize printers on this side -SF bay area- (i'm guessing the dark grey HP printers are same on your coast) are also screwed up for some reason. And they're the only ones that can do glossy photo paper

I appreciate davachez that you put the file up for amateurs like me to use. It looks great. My question is how do you edit the icons for yamaha and klipsch. I don't have those brands and want to substitute with the brands I have. I'm an infant with photoshop. It appears that I have to simplify the layer so that it can be edited. But when I do that, it blocks out some of the other icons as if they were pasted on top of the other layers. I can't seem to get them back to their original state. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What I did was completely delete the layers that had the images that I didn't need and created a new layer. On the new layer, make sure you resize your images before pasting them.

How do you change the "Concession Stand" text?

Is anyone willing to share the artwork for the tickets in the ticket booth file? It's such a neat idea but not being artistic, it's impossible for me to recreate the tickets with my name.
For those of you asking for how to, I do not currently have time to write up a tutorial since the file wasn't really made for easy modifications. In the meantime, if you have changes you cannot make on your own, I would be more than happy to help. Just PM me.

As far as the custom tickets go...ND23 has a thread going...

Thank you. Expiring file links are annoying, especially for those who didn't get in on this when everyone else did.

As soon as I get a next gen player

I have done it for some who have requested. Like this...

dachavez or anyone else that has tweaked his file - Did you figure out how to redo the welcome or concession stand writing? I am tweaking this file to fit in a larger frame and that as well as the logos are the only two things I am having a hard time with.

1. Type your text in the font you want
2. Click on your new text layer and go to Select>Load Selection and say Ok
3. Go to Layer>New Layer
4. Go to Edit>Stroke (width: 15, Color: #FFFFFF, Location: Outside)
5. Right click on one of the other neon layers and Copy Layer Style
6. Right click on your new text outline layer and Paste Layer Style

Make sure your guides are showing (View>Show>Guides) and keep your design within the bounds so it doesnt get cut off by the shadow box.

Hope that helps...

Thanks, guys, for sharing these files. I used volley's Photoshop files as a starting point for my modifications, as I wanted to put my "cool blue" neon type atop his red neon lines. I think it turned out well, using the same 9 x 20 shadow box you all bought at Michael's. I don't have any lights in mine since it will be mounted on the door and not above it. I may investigate a battery powered option in the future.

Next, I'm working on the ticket booth!

I am going to have to do some type of animated video intro using the above logo to play on the big screen before movies. Until I find time for that, I think I will simply put a jpeg still of the marquee image on a CD-ROM and display it on screen from a DVD player before starting the movie (by switching to another DVD player or the Blu-ray player as source). I'll have to check and see which of my players displays picture files.

Oh, it was $4 and some change to have the marquee printed out on matte paper at Staples. They didn't have glossy paper in that size, but that's no problem. I made the image 8.75 x 19.75 to fit best inside the Michael's frame.

So do you just bring the picture on a cd? How long did it take to print?

Looks nice!

I don't know which projector you have, but some allow you to replace their standard startup screen with your own jpg.

Yes, I saved the image as a jpeg already correctly sized and put the single file on a CD-ROM so there would be no confusion. I dropped it off at 1 p.m.. The guy said it would be ready at 2 p.m., but I didn't return until after 5 p.m.

Tonight, I dropped off a CD with the ticket booth modified to 16 x 20. I'll pick it up tomorrow. Maybe I'll do that over at 18 x 24 if I can find a shadowbox frame in that size.
