i made it with vegas video just made it a transparent png file and put some light rays with vegas video

Being not familiar with photoshop , i have searched google but couldn't find any articles on how to modify text layer ...

Therefore would someone be nice enough to post a tutorial on how to modify the marquee sign under photoshop to customize it and add my own equipment logo

I believe the Hollywood Marquee signs were out long before any of these on AVS.
In fact, I have wondered about copyright infringement issues since this thread started.

Is anyone still able to print these out? I need a specific size and can't really find anyone local to do it. Please let me know if there is anyone still printing these. Thanks

I went to Staples with a USB stick and the marquee saved to a large JPG file. I specified a size of 9x20. That's all I needed to do. $9 and 24hrs later (their printer was broken), I got the print back at the perfect size.

What paper do they print it on? Is it a transparent paper?

Glossy photo paper. The light rope in the shadowbox is strong enough to shine through nicely. However, I had to add a sheet of plastic (the one they use in fluorescent lighting) to scatter the light a bit. Without that, you could faintly see the individual LEDs of the light rope through the poster.

Staples offers web printing. Might be something to look at.

There's also the UPS store that does that online. I never used either. Just maybe it could be done.

Where have you guys been finding the logos to add to the .psd file?

+1. I had mine done by Staples last month for around $9.00 on glossy paper and it turned out great.
I've been wrestling with trying to edit the ticket booth that was posted back a couple of years ago, but it's proved to be more difficult editing because it was a graphic image.

I am looking for a change and hopefully someone can post any psd's.

I'm doing a little tweaking on the concession stand marquee to fit my "classic retro" theme. It already has such an amazing resolution that I'm opting to burn it to DVD and display it as a pre-show with interchanging video and other images on a 50" plasma. With the right brightness, contrast and color settings, the natural back light from the flat screen can offer a much more impressive touch than a 9 x 20 or 16 x 20 shadow box. Or you might even do two different designs; one to print for a light box and the other to run on screen.

I like the blue too, but it pulls your eyes away from the whole picture, it seems to me.... I love 3D frames!!

Sorry to bump an old thread, but would anyone happen to have the Concession stand PSD that chinadog posted? I PM'ed him a few months ago and he no longer has it.

A long shot but worth trying I figured.

I have a PSD file of an edited version like the one from here. I added on logos for DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD. It's all in different layers in the file so it's easily customizable. PM me if you want it.

Believe it or not, I just found it! Was looking for turbo tax files on my old pc (I switched to a Mac last year). PM me you email address and I'll take care of it.
