I know I am just venting here- but I have had my player for a little over a month (XA2)-but I am getting tired of constant movie interuptions when brand new and rented (granted some were a little beat up) keep freezing up the player. Last night while watching a brand new disc of Fearless it happened again. I think the most frustrating part is that you can't stop it or fast forward or anything-because the player does not respond to any commands. So you are forced to sit throughthe whole process until you see the dreaded '408bc504"
Then the only way to get the disc out is to force shut-down by pressing in the power button, which the manual says can damage the player after a while- but what are we supposed to do -to get the damn disc out! I'm afraid to watch HD movies anymore-In the back of my mind-I am constantly waiting for the movie to flake out-especially when I have company over and you want to show off the system (yes it seems to always happen at those most embarrassing times-last night was no exception). Not a good way to persuade people into HDDVD. For $900 I expect more I guess. I know I am just blowing off steam here, but man it sure makes it tough to enjoy this (expensive) hobby.
