Speaker grill material questions--

I wasn't sure if I should put this in the DIY board or here, but I decided to put it here.

I'm waiting for a set of 4x Onix x-ls and 1x Onix x-cs to arrive (), and as they're the not-as-new version, they don't have and weren't designed for speaker grills.

I would like to see if there's anything I can do something to protect them a little, and was wondering if there are any ways to secure grill cloth to them without using a drill? Would just wrapping grill cloth around the whole speaker a couple times work? (If you look at my occupation in my profile, you'll see that aesthetics are not really an issue for me )

and also, would partsexpress.com be a good place to get the cloth?

Doubtful. A grill frame functions to put a little distance between the drivers and possible intrusions. Without that, grill cloth directly on the cabinet won't do much.

Unless you have young children or destructive pets, you should be fine with no grills.

Thanks for pointing that out.

My dogs' legs are really short, and there are no kids here, so perhaps going without grills will do just fine.
