PQ on Tear of the Sun

Hi all, new member here, and I must say after reading your posts for information, you all have been very helpful. My problem/question is with Tears of the Sun on BD. I know a lot of you have recommended it as a "show-off" disc for PQ. Well, to make things short, I bought one, and am not disappointed overall, but I did notice that while watching it, there seems to be white dots, like grain, that pop up ocassionally on it. I was wondering if this was just on the transfer, or if this is a problem with my specific copy.

Never noticed. To my eyes it looked better than the version that aired on Starz. A- to A quality as far as the picture goes. Sound is top notch.

No issues for me either.

White dots occasionally would be dirt in the print, but white speckles would be a poor HDMI connection. Changing discs isn't going to help.

That does sound like sparkles caused from the HDMI signal/connection/cable. Try switching out the cable, then go from there.
