Low LFE on A2 via Optical

Hi guys,

I've noticed that the LFE level over Optical cable from the A2 is somewhat low as compared to the same title on DVD. I have conducted tests on about 5 movies that I have on both with the same results.

Has anyone else also experienced this?

I have an A2 hooked up with optical audio cable and have not noticed this problem. Perhaps it depends on what type of speaker system you are using. I'm using the Definitive Technology BP2002 system with two main full range towers with built in powered subs, a CLR2002 center, BP2X surrounds and a PF15TL powered sub. I guess with all of the powered subs in this system, a lack of bass is not going to be an issue.

Well, when I say low LFE I mean relative to the standard DVD; I can compensate by adjusting the LFE level but it is a bit of a PITA as my receiver does not have independent LFE adjustments for each input just one setting for analog and one for digital.

By the way I'm on firmware 1.3

Yes, I was making the comparison based on standard dvd too, and I have not made any bass or LFE adjustments either. It sounds pretty much the same as my Pioneer Elite DV47Ai standard dvd, but I've only had the A2 for a few days and have not really done any serious listening as of yet. Does your system use full range mains?
