Im looking into buying some X10 WS12 light switches (dimming switches) for a number of lights in the house (15 or so). I also bought the PC/USB controller as well (CM15A).
I have a Leviton light switch that works very nicely. I called them to ask about a PC interface & the said I should go with X10, then I saw that X10 has similar/compatible switches to Leviton & I figured I would just buy those.
I am not using the X10 for mission critical (aside from turning on the lights). As long as the light switches physcially work, I think that covers the mission critical part.
However, I dont need to spend 500 bucks on X10 to find its junk (like their wireless cameras that I bought years ago & returned).
They bundled all their software with the CM15A, gave me a 2 X10 pro wall outlets & a few other dodads.
Plus a nifty remote, so I guess we will see how that works.
Is the Leviton stuff that much better (its 3x the price)?
