Makes sense.

One time I was at Walmart going to the BD section and I see this employee walking away with a few BD's in her hand, I ask her which movie it is and she shows me "Running with Scissors" and tell me someone had accidently put it on the shelf a week before its release date.

Jonathan --

Just FYI - your photobucket link requires a pw before we can see anything.

And on an unrelated note ... I'm SO freaking jealous

Looks great, good find
isn't the 13th the release date?

Do you have a PS3? From the paused frames it looks like you do (the white pause indicator on the lower left corner).

While playing Casino Royale switch over to the PCM track and check to see what audio bitrate is displayed. This will tell us if Sony bit the bullet and provided a 24 bit audio track or not.

Thanks! And... you lucky bastard!

Yep. If it says 4.6Mbps, then that would be 16/48. 24/48 should be more like 6.9Mbps. At least for 5.1.

And the actual PS3 in the background would be a good indicator too.

not entirely unbelievable. I worked as a manager for Suncoast video when they were still around, DVD movies would come in up to 6 weeks before the release date, and it's quite easy to make a mistake in the date and put it on the shelves.

Very helpful, and expected even though a recent review indicated a 24-bit PCM track. Regardless, it seems to be a fantastic sounding track. Not optimal (assuming the movie was originally mastered in 24-bit), but fantastic.

I didn't know getting these titles early was such a big deal. Well I had mine for almost a week and these were giving to me by a friend in the "BUSINESS". I usually keep to myself about these releases but I do believe every Blu Ray owner will enjoy the quality of Casino Royale!!!.

What is the walmart sku for Casino Royale?
Yeah, was this about $24.99 at Walmart? Also, the DD track is only 448 kbps? I thought these were usually 640 on BD.

I am going to go to Wal-Mart today and see if I can get someone to check the back for me.
