Maybe, it depends what scenes you are shooting. If mostly static, then sure true 1080i (not fake 1440x1080) would look better; if fast moving, 720p(60) is better suited. That's why ESPN uses 720p while most other stations use (fake) 1080i
720p60 and 1080i60 contain about same amount pixels (per minute wise), but to average (not so well informed) consumers, 1080i sounds way better than 720p. Of course, if they have a true 1080p (and reasonably priced) camcorder, I am all for it :-)
I am considering HV20 because of 1080p24, I wish they had included 1080p30, I don't really like 2:3 pull down jerkyness.
