Will TMNT make it to Blu Ray?

Pretty much what the title says. I know its a Weinstein film but I believe its being distributed by Warner. If its not released in USA does anyone know if you may be able to import it? Thanks!

The trailer is in the Sony Playstation Store for download on PS3. So I'm sure it will come to Blu-Ray eventually

Not sure if that means anything, xmen 3 trailer was on xbox live and as we know that's a Fox BR exclusive....

It'll depend on the home video distribution is done by Weinstein/Genius or WB. If WB does it (which seems likely -- why wouldn't they?) then TMNT will be HD DVD and BR.

According to IMDB, TMNT is indeed distro'ed by Warner. Weinstein is co-producing. I'm guessing this will be on both.

Usually when Weinstein films are distro'd by other studios, full rights revert back to Weinstein for home video. At least I know this is how their films distributed by MGM go. If this is the scenario, it would be HD DVD exclusive. I guess no one will know for sure until it hits shelves, but I'd have to guess HD DVD exclusive.

As for importing, Wikipedia says it's being distro'd by Warner in the US only, and by Weinstein alone in other nations. That would mean no imports.

It's going to suck.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...they're attempting to renew interest in the franchise with a new CG movie that'll come out on the 23rd of this month.

However, it's safe to say that the franchise took an irrecoverable nosedive with TMNT III: Turtles in Time...

^^

I don't think it'll be good as a cg movie. I liked the original costumed ones.

I think it'll suck. my .02

I saw the first two movies in the theater when they were first released, then again on VHS and DVD. Never saw the third until a few months ago when I Tivoed it off the Scifi Channel.

*BARF* OMG what a bad movie. Not bad as in "Well, the series is getting kind of tired by now" but bad as in "Holy crap, how did this ever get made?".

I have high hopes for TMNT. The franchise has lain fallow long enough to feel fresh again. Same with Transformers.

Imagine watching it as a kid.

I actually enjoyed the original movie when I saw it last a few years ago,I figured as I got older it would lose it's appeal to me.

Yep, I remember that vividly. Right around the puberty/loss of innocence period.

The timing couldn't have been more perfect .

There's an article at the tvshowsondvd website about the 5th season of the original cartoon being released on August 7th - key thing is they say it's the same day as Warner releasing TMNT on Blu-ray and HD-DVD! A picture is there with the coverart too!

Well that's worth a link: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=7381

I am so getting this disc. I really liked the movie and I loved the Turtles back in the day.

Indeed. And I do enjoy a little schadenfreude that it's not Weinstein doing distro. Now that it looks like Warner may use TrueHD (and/or PCM) on Blu-ray as much as they do on HD DVD, I hope we (both) get lossless.

Yes, this is great news, my friend had sent me an email today with the same info. I cant wait and a week before 300 is out as well. Great summer flicks.

Saw this movie in the theater, and very much looking forward to getting it on Blu-ray. The CGI effects are pretty slick, and I love the darker, grittier Turtles. Much truer to the original comic book source.

Well, looks like another movie I'll get on BR due to the HD-DVD version being a god damn combo.
