AHHH!! I've been searching and searching and I'm about to explode!!
If you have this model and a ps3 hooked up via hdmi, PLEASE RESPOND!!!
Okay, I bought this lcd about 4 months ago.... within the last 2 months, I bought a ps3 and hooked it up via HDMI... It SEEMS to work just fine, but everytime a game boots up from the crossbar menu, the screen flickers static for anywhere from 3 to 10 or even 20 seconds! It also makes static popping sounds while doing this. It also does this when exiting a game back to the crossbar menu. Basically it happens when it changes resolution, but it's not normal, and the LCD has never done this with any other device, including a 360.
I've tried a million different things. I've used two different HDMI cables. Same thing. BUT, I've tried it with my parents plasma Panasonic tv, and it works COMPLETELY FINE. ALSO, it works fine when I use the ps3 via component cables.
But I don't WANT to use component cables. I want to use HDMI! It's SUPPOSED to work. Obviously it's not the cables, since I've tried two different brands. It defintiely seems like it's not the ps3 because it works fine via hdmi on my parents plasma tv. So it looks like it's the TV.
I've read reports of people having this issue online, and I've read reports of people saying they love the TV while using the ps3, and they never mention this problem!
FOR ANYONE THAT HAS THIS TV (Samsung LN-S3251D) AND A PS3 HOOKED UP VIA HDMI, DO YOU HAVE THIS PROBLEM?!?! DO YOU NOT HAVE IT???
If you don't, what cables do you use? And EXACTLY how do you have it hooked up? Do you have it hooked up to a surround setup?
I'm just about to go crazy! I've called samsung and they've been playing monkey in the middle with me for over a month now, and I have no answers. I payed BIG bucks for this tv, and I WANT it to do what it's supposed to do! I'm not asking too much!!
Any ideas on what to do with Samsung? Because I've tried everything else.
Oh, also, when I play a game on my ps3 via hdmi, I'll hear a static distortion that lasts about 3 seconds, and it happens every 20 minutes. This does not happen at all when hooked up via component, and it has never happened before using my xbox360.
