Cost effective Next Gen HD player

I am now looking for a cost effective next gen HD player. I am leaning towards Blu since Disney is still exclusive for them. I don't need a top of the line unit like my Pioneer or Panny since this is for outside. I was thinking the Philips or the Sammy since both can be had for around 500.00. Any ideas? I would love to get an A2 HD DVD player but there is just not enough kids content. I would like being able to do Pirates of the Caribbean 2 or Cars outside this summer!

On second thought I may just wait it out until the LG hits a reasonable price. Then I will have the best of both worlds in one unit!

Neutral is the way to go. I have both and don't regret it a bit. King Kong on your projector would be amazing!

Good thinking! King Kong would rock outside... My Wife thought Twister would be awesome but only if they release it in HD!

The lg is now starting to drop below 1,000! It won't be much longer...

For the price why not select the PS3. With the cost = to the other dedicated player options the additional ability to play games 20' wide outside is amazing. I expect the Bluetooth controls won't have issue with the distance an outdoor setup would have.

ps3 and the bluetooth remote. Great full featured Blu-Ray player. $600 dollars. HDMI or component hookups.

before and after the movie people can play games on the huge screen.

Not a bad option. Then I just would need to get HD DVD capability. Maybe the 199 add on for my 360 or the cheaper Sammy player... Video games outside on a screen that bg would be awesome... Thanks, I will consider this route...
