When should I have my HDTV calibrated??

I purchased a Sony SXRD 1080p 55" yesterday..... Magnolia will be here today for the premium install.... When I purchased the tv, they told me that the calibration was included.... I was just on the Magnolia website and it mentioned that a tv should be in use for 100 hours or about 3 weeks before calibration should be done.... At his point, I have only 1 hour lol..

Thoughts?

I would get familiar with the television for a while anyway. Play with user controls, try out different settings, get a feel for what you like and dislike so you can tell the calibrator when he gets there and he has something to work with.

Greetings

Minimum of 50 hours on the bulb to burn some stuff off. The bulb changes color a bit during this period.

After this ... further break in period is to determine if the tV is a DUD ...

Sometimes you'd like to wait a month ... and then do it.

Regards
