I haven't been around here for while and I was wondering whatever happened to the DVD Player made by V Inc called the Bravo?

I think I purchased one of the last ones from Newegg. Did the cap mod and player puts out a fairly good picture over DVI on native 720p at 72HZ. PQ is very similar to my old trusted Zenith 318 over component at 480P or 1080i. Go figure.
Main difference between the 2 players is that Bravo is impredictable at loading time and SLOW and at reading RW DVDs. Bravo does a good job scaling to 4:3 format when necessary, though.

I got one from Newegg also, didnt have any problems but i did the cap mod and ide cable replacement, plays all xvids i have, only gripe is playback of most DL disc's i have.
It's a older player for before DL's were popular so firmware is the main problem.

Yr's ago there were plenty of great firmware hackers that added alot of features, esp for apex players,i'm sure the Bravo firmware could be modded for more playability with different brands of blanks

I have a D2, I bought it about 14 months ago.

When it works, it works great. The problem that I'm having with it is that it periodially does not remember the settings, so I have go back in to reset to DVI about once a week. My wife loves that feature :-)

I have tried sending emails to V Inc., and they do not answer. There used to be a link to some support docs, firmware, etc. but that has been removed from their site.

Are they not supporting this any longer? I'd like to ask them if they have a firmware fix that will correct the loss of settings problem.

I think I may get rid of it to go to an Oppo, but I'm not sure if that one will work with my PJ.

If anyone knows any more info about the D2, I'd like to hear about it.

Thanks
