I was going to just create a system image, but my usual cd boot image didn't have the drivers needed to work with the raid in the system.
I will describe what I received with my Velocity Micro CineMagix S85:
- Microsoft Windows Vista OS disk
- Drivers and Updates disk
- Intel RAID Driver floppy
- Marvell RAID driver floppy (for the other RAID controller)
I also received some additional disks from Intel and eVGA, but I'm not sure if they are needed for a reinstallation. Also, the Intel drivers, for example, are available from the Intel web site.
I believe this would be everything needed to recreate the OS from scratch.
I also made a Windows Complete PC backup to avoid having to reinstall all of my software if possible, but this option is available only with Vista Ultimate - not with Home Premium.
I have had one driver problem, and Velocity Micro telephone support was good about walking me through the driver installation. I downloaded some drivers from the Intel web site, because I was having a problem reading with my DVD drive.
