I am running a Samsung HPS5073 display and have a Denon AVR4306 receiver and a Denon 1930ci dvd player.
I have the TV hooked up to the receiver via HDMI cable.
The audio for SACD from my dvd player is hooked up with 5.1 connections and currently I am useing optical cable for all other audio signals.
I had the DVD player hooked up with HDMI cable as well but had to switch to component cables for the following reason.
When listening to a cd, dvd or SACD I would turn off the TV since I did not need it on, but when I would do this it would cause the DVD player to freeze up for 2 - 3 seconds and sometime even freeze to the point of a power reset. I know this is do to the data connection being lost but is there a way to fix this or do I have to use the component video cable?
I know some people say that component cable looks better and some say HDMI looks better but I honestly have not had a chance to really test it since as soon as I noticed this problem I switched cables.
