I searched far and wide, and no luck.
I woke up this morning and flipped on my Hitachi 57s500 RPTV. So far it is a great TV - no issues (have had it for almost 3 years).
Everything was working just dandy. Then when I try to turn it off, it does not comply. Instead, when hitting the power button on the Hitachi remote, it runs through the Magic Focus function. When it completes the Magic Focus process, the picture comes back, but no audio. I hit the power button again, and the image goes black, then re-appears after about 2 seconds with the audio working fine (blue power light never goes out during this process). All the other TV functions are working properly (various video sources, changing channels, etc.).
Thinking that the remote is borked, I hit the power button on the front of the TV, and it does the same thing as when performed from the remote. Finally, I tried unplugging the unit for a bit (5-10 mins or so), and when plugging it back in, the TV powered up immediately and continues to not letting me power it down - and continuing to still do its Magic Focus routine, losing audio, yada, yada (as stated above).
Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
