NEC 6 PG and playstation 3

Are any of you currently hooked up to a playstation 3? If so, how are you doing it so you are getting the proper 16x9 format with a 1080i resolution? With my old 480p DVD player it did all of the screen formating for me, but not so with the PS3. I bought a PS3 component cable, which hooks up to the CRT, though it doesn't provide the proper signal that I need.

Are you using a transcoder to get the component signal into RGBHV?

Yes I am.

I thought the PS3 can't do 1080i and that was one of the biggest complaints (that it would be downconverted 480p with 1080i sets). So, you'll probably want to set it for 720p.

It isn't that it can't do 1080i, but it can't scale 720P content to 1080i, so if your game is in 720P (which nearly *all* of them are) then you can't play the game in 1080i, it downscales to 480P.
The XBOX360 will scale games to whatever resolution you are running, but the PS3 won't.
