I got my 1991 vintage Canon 8 mm camcorder out of storage for the first time in about 5 years to watch some old family videos. When I try to load a tape, I hear a strange "whining" sound, and then an "Eject" warning begins to flash in the LCD display. Any idea what could be causing this, and is it something I can fix myself... like by disassembling, cleaning and lubricating all the moving parts for starters? I certainly don't want to spend any serious $$$ to fix a unit this old and obsolete, but at the same time I would like to get it functioning at least long enough to backup all my old tapes to DVR/DVD. Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated!!
