DVC Sub w/2-channel amp

Sorry if this has been asked before, I searched but didn't find anything.

I am planning on building an (inexpensive) DIY sub, and I have a two channel receiver I am not using anymore. Can I hook up the L/R speaker out to the separate voice coils of a DVC subwoofer? This will be a small low power sub (just to add some low end to my bookshelves) so I don't need a bunch of power, I was looking at the 70W plate amp at Parts Express before I thought of using my receiver.

Thanks.

It will work. There are many systems with one woofer, dual coils fed with the right on one coil and left on the other.
