The DTS version can still be had, at about $40. Is it really worth the extra $$ over the non-DTS version?

One word. YESSSS!!!!!!
The DTS Version has a supremely better audio track. I have both and I only let my friends take the DD one. The DTS version is from my "exclusive" Reserve. At the time when it came out the DTS took more space from the Disc than the DD so you will notice some of the extras are gone from the DTS version but the presentation and audio are top notch.

These movies are not being released because there is no installed base, not because they are paranoid. Most sales will happen within a few months of a hyped release, why limit the sales to an audience of a few million when you can wait 2-3 years and get and audience 10s of millions (HOPEFULLY!).

By the time these are released, we will know which way the 'war' went, whether it be one format or both coexisting.

Like someone else correctly mentioned. Spielbergo and Lucas like MONEY.
Why else would they be reserecting Ford to make ROTLA part 4? ... yup money.

When the demand is there, they will release it. Of course they also take their "craft" very seriously and wouldnt release a DVD as such without overseeing its transfer.

So time is a consideration as well.

So when the time is available and the demand is there...it so shall be released.

How can I tell if my copy is the OOP DTS version? I'm pretty sure I have it, considering it only has DTS and Dolby Surround. I'd love to be able to sell this if it is worth that much.

IMO, Speilberg should not be the one making the call.....Parmount funded the movie and should have every right in the world to release in any format and at anytime
(HD DVD first)

I would also think the actors who starred in it are biting at the bit to get it released ASAP....I sure Tom Hank's and maybe other actors in the movie have some type of bonus money coming based on sales.....

Just my opinion
