6Ft HDMI to DVI is 28AWG okay or is 24AWG a better choice?

Just need to get a 6ft cable from monoprice and wondering if 28AWG is okay.

There shouldn't be much degradation between the two for the length you're looking at. I have a 26awg, 25' dvi to hdmi and I am very happy with the cable transfer. I also bought mine from 'Monoprice', you just can't beat their service & price. If price is no concern with you select the thicker gauge, otherwise go with the cheaper 28awg.

The lower the gauge the heavier the wire and less flexibility. With HDMI connectors you want the least amount of weight as possible. At 6ft any properly constructed cable should work just fine to 1080p60 and probably higher.

28 gage is plenty. Those overkill thick as hell cables are hard to route and have to be supported behind a table top device like an HD DVD player even with the dongle adapter because of the weight. Truly overkill. I know, I bought the thick ones and then reordered the thinner ones. NO picture difference.
