Trouble with new Panasonic TH-42P600U

Received TV Monday morning (3/19/07).
Set it up early that evening on the supplied stand.
Hooked up all cables & set worked great.
After dinner hung the set on the wall mount I installed on Saturday.
Set worked fine & watched for about 2 1/2 hours.
Came home today (3/20/07), set woked fine for about an hour then a bunch of flashing colors, then nothing.
Pulled power cord & reconnected.
Nothing, the red power light blinks 7 times, pauses, 7 times and so on.
Called Panasonic & they are supposed to call tomorrow to send a tech to the house.
I'll let you know how it all works out.

If possible, I'd recommend returning your PDP for a replacement or a refund. I'm not a big advocate of fixing something when it is sold to me as brand new.

Agree - if it is within the return period just swap it out, preferably for one with a serial number not to close to the one you have, or a different production date.

Panasonic called Wednesday morning & set up Thursday appointment.
Repair tech came at 2:30, changed circuit board, done by 3:00.
All looks perfect.
Was worried about repair on new set so we will see if anything else crops up.
Tech said I should not have any other trouble.

Bruzzi (OP of Plasma FAQ sticky thread) has some information on Panasonic's blinking light error codes if you're interested. He may be able to tell you what the 7 blinks was all about if you post in his thread. I think it usually it identifies which board is bad.
