Amazon has 52 St. and The Stranger for reasonable prices. I haven't seen these in any B/M stores. Any opinions on these older releases?

I have them both and while I wouldn't list them as the best-sounding disks in my collection, I think they sound very good. If you like Billy Joel, pick them up.

Buy them both. The Stranger is outstanding in multichannel. 52nd Street is very good. An Innocent Man is not so good on SACD.

For you, or anyone else who is looking for some feedback (and prices) on different SACD's, a very good resource is SA-CD.net.

I agree, Jeff. I've been listening to Billy Joel since early in his career, and when I saw The Stranger on SACD I couldn't get it out of the bin fast enough. Soon I'll own 52nd Street, too.

I like his early stuff much better than his later stuff, so I'm not sure about An Innocent Man--we'll see.

Other than that personal issue, I'd say highly recommended.

Cool. Thanks for the input. I ordered The Stranger from Amazon today.
