When your defragging all media content do it at late night it's going to take a while. I use O&O Defrag 8.5 Pro does a good job on clustters..

My Pc PVR which I call DVR1 300GB PATA 16Mb Cache MAXTOR has to be defrag weekly..

Based on
what can be seen in O&O MCE appears to purposely fragment files. This would seem to prevent overuse of some clusters at the expense of others. I tend to defragment the OS drive with access speed in mind but never the storage drive...

I've been doing it since 2004 when I got into HTPC prior I had use Disk Keeper Pro 8, then 9 and now O&O 8 then 8.5. I prefer O&O since Disk Keeper kept on crashing. I don't have a problem with O&O and I use their CleverCache program with the HTPC..

I have been using the new version of Diskeeper and its working real fine for me, runs in the background quite unobtrusively.
