sure
i use quicktime pro. very easy to use. cheap, powerful and fast. go find some nice shiny 1080p trailers. here are some great sources:
http://www.apple.com/trailers/http://www.drfoster.f2s.com/
quicktime pro will let you download and save the trailer files.
once you've done this, in qt under file click on export. on the next screen select "movie to mpeg-4" then click options
if you downloaded trailers from the above sites, your video and audio should be set to "pass through". the conversion should take just a few seconds. if you have other content not already in .mov format, you'll need to let it convert to mpeg 4. i'd suggest playing with the settings for optimal pic quality vs. file size, and converting a non .mov file to mpeg 4 will take considerably longer than the .mov--->.mp4 container change
move file to media and that's it. once you transfer it to the ps3, be sure to start playing the trailer, hit the triangle button, navigate to the best part of the trailer, and let it make a thumbnail movie for you from that point.
enjoy
oh, and the 1080p pirates trailer is on dave's site...
