What just happened to my Panny Plasma?

Just bought one of the marked down Panasonic 42inch, 600 series plasmas at best buy a few weeks back...great set UNTIL

Watching a DVD tonight with my daughter, and all of a sudden a little static like noise, and a vertical, from top to bottom, 3 inch black band appears on my screen. Weird little noises continue for a couple minutes, and I can see green lines in this black band. Turn TV off, no help. Black band still there...

It's only been about three weeks, so Best Buy will still take it back.

Is my panny FUBAR?

The screen is composed of multiple segments. You have lost a circuit board to one of the vertical segments. I had to return a brand new 65" plasma for same issue. Don't delay, take it back.
