I bought an old Marantz SR-96 on ebay about a month ago (yes, bring on the buyer beware comments, I'm ready...). The thing seems to be working fine (sounds great), but what will happen is that it will shut off and on randomly. I don't have the manual, of course, although I've been searching for it online...don't know where to get it. So consider this also a request in passing for help on that if you have any leads about where I can find a manual (let me add that I'd be glad to pay a reasonable amount for one).
My main question is, I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the hardware, or if I just don't know what the heck the sleep function does (no, I don't know what the heck the sleep function does) and I've mis-programmed it somehow. Does anyone have a clue?
And, assuming it does need some repair, I'm wondering if anyone knows a good repair shop in NYC that will service it?
