I agree, I'm in this for 'me', because I enjoy movies, so as long as HD-DVD continues to have great movies come out, and possibly even higher PQ/AQ quality as it matures then we're already enjoying now, I'll buy them, and if need be someday (if the movies did
dry up) I'd simply buy a Blu player and set it beneath my A2, oh the horror of the possiblity of having two disc players and a shelf that has different colored cases, lol!
I'm quite certain my A2 and discs are going to last many, many years if treated well, my tv sure as hell is not gonna care which player is feeding it hi-def movies, lemme put it that way, so I'll never be replacing my current, great looking and growing HD-DVD collection - just adding to it, be it more HD or maybe someday BD. =)
The only thing that would concern me *MIGHT* be the time from when/if HD-DVD movies stopped to when/if Sony/Blu Ray got my money to run some on their player - I mean, as it stands TODAY, some things would have to change, and I'd be waiting on THEM (while enjoying HD-DVD and SD) UNTIL: BD has a full featured, stand alone player, not a gaming machine, priced between $300-$400 (or less
), more older/classic C-A-T-A-L-O-G movies, yeah thats right, I like movies from all era's and all genres, and umm, in VC-1...THEN I'd be in. Hear that, Sony? Yeah, 'I' the consumer am telling YOU what I'd like, you're not forcing s#!t on me today, there is an alternative, and the wait would be painle$$ for me
