Damn it, what the hell is that?

I have a Dvico 5100 on a Toshiba 32WL66Z! It works fine with Firmware 1.3.15!

But when I'm using 1.4.52 or the new 1.7.5 I have green flashes all the time Sad No matter what option I change, it's always the same Sad 1.3.15 works fine (no green flashes), the newer Firmwares dont work anymore

What crashed the connection between Toshiba and the Dvico? What can I do about it?

Plz help me ^^

Received TVIX m4110sh few days ago. Installed 1Tb SATA drive to record off-air hdtv programs. Here are some issues that I am experiencing.
1) PVR feature not working correctly for scheduled recordings. For example, in the morning I created a schedule to record programs in the evening. Later I found that the box is stuck and I had to hard boot it(which deleted all recording schedules!!!). I have tried it many times in the last 3 days and have been facing the same issue(box freezes and a hard reboot deletes all recording schedules). When I go and check the recording folder, I see that it record the program for few seconds(5-10s). Scheduled recording is a nightmare with this box. have formatted my HDD as NTFS(as suggested by TVIX). Surprisingly, If i manually record a program that I am watching, it works great but that is of no use(why would I record a program that I am already watching!!!)
2) Sometimes, when I press button on the remote, unit reboots instead of power down. It has been happening quite frequently.

Currently running 1.4.52 firmware.
Would appreciate any help in resolving these issues.

It sounds as though you may have a corrupted firmware installation. I suggest that you try reinstalling 1.4.52.

at one time wasn't there a group that had an addon to put thumbnails on your dvd folders and iso's that was pulled from the net?
If so is it still around?

Anyone try and repair their VFD (the display on the box)? Smelled smoke the other day then today noticed the VFD was not working.

Others seem to have this problem (on mpc). Just wondered if anyone else has tried to fix this. Thanks.

I am experience the following on a 4100SH with 1.4.52 firmware and external Western Digital Mybook 1TB external USB drive :

a) Slow boot on TVIX (shows "Loading" for almost a minute while lights flash on MyBook USB drive)

b) After booting, initial access to MyBook USB drive is slow (again lights on drive flash for about a minute) - but then navigation within folder of MyBook is normal and playing HD movies is also OK.

Is didn't see this problem with a USB flash device.

Any remedy for this ?

Just got out the old 4100sh and gave it a shot. I flashed it with the last firmware 1.7.11f and its playing all my old movies.
BUT
I ran into something I am not sure whats going on.
I just made an iso from my sin city directors disk.
It has sound for about a minute then the sound stops.
I jumped back on my computer and with 2 different programs the iso plays fine.

Does anyone know why the sound quits after 1 minute?

I am re ripping the dvd to files and see if this corrects it.
I use anydvd and dvd decrypter
